China Passenger Vehicle ADAS Market—H1 2025 Analysis

Table of Contents

In the first half of 2025, the penetration rate of Level 2 (L2) and above ADAS in China’s passenger vehicle market surpassed 50% for the first time, reaching a record high of 56.1%. Among them, L2++ features saw the most significant growth, with installations reaching 1.799 million units, up from 6.5% last year to 17% this year.

New energy vehicles (NEVs) adopt ADAS faster than traditional fuel vehicles, with L2 and above functions nearly standard on models priced over RMB 150,000. In H1 2025, the L2+ penetration rate in NEVs reached 67%, significantly higher than that of fuel vehicles.

For vehicles priced above RMB 100,000, L2 functions are increasingly standard, with the RMB 100,000–200,000 segment contributing the highest number of NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) features. Lower-priced vehicles (under RMB 100,000) still have low ADAS adoption, while vehicles above RMB 100,000 generally exceed 50% penetration. The RMB 100,000–200,000 segment accounted for 45.3% of total NOA installations, with significant growth potential remaining.

AEB penetration reached 67.7%, and highway NOA adoption broke the 17% mark. In H1 2025, vehicles equipped with highway NOA totaled 1.798 million units, representing a 191% increase year-on-year.

Highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) adoption is entering a rapid growth stage, with installations surging from 144,000 units in January to 511,000 units in June, signaling an accelerating scale-up process.

Automated parking (APA) penetration reached 33.9%, with high-end parking functions still emerging. Most APA growth comes from vehicles in the RMB 100,000–200,000 price range. Meanwhile, advanced features such as memory parking and valet parking still have significant market potential.

ADAS domain control is dominated by integrated driving and parking systems, with a pronounced polarization in computing power. Integrated driving-parking domain controllers currently account for 91.2% of the market.

ADAS sensor market continues rapid expansion, with side and rear ADAS cameras doubling year-on-year. Multi-sensor fusion remains the mainstream. On NEVs, each vehicle carries up to 6 ADAS cameras, primarily using 5V and 1V solutions. Overall ADAS camera installations reached 44.668 million units, up 50.1% year-on-year, with an average of 4.2 cameras per passenger vehicle.

Millimeter-wave radar adoption reached 16.357 million units in H1 2025. Penetration remains low for vehicles under RMB 200,000, but adoption is expected to rise sharply with upcoming mandatory AEB regulations and growing safety feature requirements.

LiDAR adoption exceeded 100 models equipped as standard, with total installations surpassing 1 million units in H1. The RMB 200,000–300,000 segment is the main market for LiDAR integration. Combined configurations of primary LiDAR plus solid-state auxiliary LiDAR are entering mass production.
